DACHSER connects Tunisia and Turkey directly to its groupage network

At the beginning of the year, DACHSER put two gateways for groupage transportation, full truckload (FTL) and less than truckload (LTL) to Tunisia and Turkey into operation. The logistics service provider is thus expanding its service portfolio and offering its customers faster and more efficient road transportation to and from the two countries.

At the beginning of the year, DACHSER put two gateways for groupage transportation, full truckload (FTL) and less than truckload (LTL) to Tunisia and Turkey into operation.

Via the two gateways Strasbourg and Ungerhausen near Memmingen for Tunisia and via the Ungerhausen gateway to Turkey, DACHSER bundles groupage transportation from all over Europe so that direct system transports to the Tunisian cities of Rades and Bennane as well as to the Turkish capital Istanbul and Izmir can be offered several times a week.

DACHSER has been represented in Tunisia for around 15 years and in Turkey for around nine years with its own national organization. Turkey has been directly connected to DACHSER's European overland transport network via the North Central Europe business unit since 2015. The gateways in Strasbourg and Ungerhausen now bring Tunisia even closer to the European markets. With its DACHSER Cargoplus service segment, the logistics service provider creates reliable import and export connections between Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. The next step is to expand towards the Caucasus.

DACHSER had already connected Morocco to its groupage network via the Strasbourg gateway at the beginning of 2023 and has been offering daily scheduled truck services to the Maghreb country ever since. Fixed and synchronized transit times ensure reliable and efficient transport planning. DACHSER teams with many years of logistics experience in the Maghreb and Turkey also ensure efficient processes and secure customs clearance.

Uniform quality standards in and beyond Europe

Thanks to standardized processes and systems, DACHSER enables its customers to track shipments and handle all logistics processes across the board. In Turkey, DACHSER is already working with the company's own transport management system Domino, which will soon be rolled out in Tunisia. The uniform process and service standards ensure high delivery quality.

"We are delighted to be able to expand our Cargoplus offering and, in addition to Morocco, now also offer scheduled truck transports from Europe to Tunisia and Turkey and back several times a week - and of course with high and uniform service and quality standards," says Renata Gayer, Department Head DACHSER Cargoplus.
