DACHSER expands warehouse capacities at two French locations
DACHSER is strengthening its warehousing capacities in France with the construction of new facilities in Roissy and Nîmes. In Roissy in the greater Paris area, 20,000 square meters of warehouse space have been created. In Nîmes in the Occitanie region in southern France, a 12,000 square meter warehouse went into operation.
With the additional space, the logistics service provider is responding to increasing customer demand for combined transport and warehouse services. In total, the warehouse space in France has been expanded by around 100,000 square meters over the past three years. Warehouse services are currently provided at 17 locations in France.
"With the new branch in Roissy, we are strengthening our warehouse capacities in the greater Paris area and further expanding our transport services with northern France and northern Europe," explains Frédéric Possien, General Manager Ile de France Nord Est at DACHSER. The proximity to the international air hub Paris Charles de Gaulle and the proximity to the capital also offer advantages.
The 20,000 square meter warehouse is equipped with 21 loading gates and two ramps and can store a total of 29,500 pallets. Customers mainly come from the construction, heating, healthcare and household electrical appliances sectors. The new logistics site is also suitable for the storage of hazardous materials. In addition, 700 square meters of office space have been created in Roissy.
Connections to the South of Europe
The new warehouse in Nîmes in the south of France offers 12,000 square meters of space with 14 loading gates for 19,000 pallets. Goods from the food sector as well as DIY and gardening supplies are stored here. The site is complemented by around 400 square meters of office space.
"With the warehouse in Nîmes, we can meet customer demand in southern France, one of the most important hubs between southern Europe and North Africa," says Murat Kayki, General Manager Languedoc-Roussillon at DACHSER. "This complements our presence in the region and increases the warehouse space between Montpellier and Marseille to a total of 48,000 square meters."
