"We continue to focus on quality and reliability"

A weak global economy, challenging geopolitical conditions and an increasingly complex environment - 2024 was an extremely challenging year. But for DACHSER, it was also characterized by important decisions and innovations. A review by CEO Burkhard Eling.

How will we categorize the year 2024 when we look back in five years' time? There is no certain answer to this question yet. What is certain, however, is that we have set the course in this challenging year.

We are countering the global economic downturn and increasingly complex geopolitical conditions with more community and collaboration within the company, an even closer partnership with our customers and fresh ideas and innovations such as our digital twin @ILO.

On the right track

In 2024, we were able to set some highlights that benefit our customers: We strengthened our Road Logistics network and completed the acquisitions of DACHSER & FERCAM Italia, Frigoscandia and Brummer. Morocco, Tunisia and Turkey are now much more closely connected to our European groupage network via gateways. We will further consolidate our network with the start of construction work on new logistics centers and warehouses. With our own Container Freight Station for exports near Rotterdam, we are dovetailing our road transport network very closely with sea freight and making our customers' supply chains more resilient. And finally, by the end of the year, we had already implemented our successful model of emission-free inner-city deliveries in 16 major cities in Europe.

We remain firmly on course and are pursuing our growth strategy. We will continue to focus fully on quality and reliability and optimize our customers' supply chains. For 2025, I am certain that we will continue our success story as an independent family business on a global scale.
